IMPACT OF FERTILIZER CONSUMPTION WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE YIELD OF RICE AND SUGAR CANE IN ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA

Abstract

From dates back man is dependent on crops as primary food supply. To increase the yield on crops we need to study how to improve the present cultivation system. At present we are using fertilizers containing Nitrogen, phosphorous and Potassium which are giving additional support to the crops in addition to the natural minerals present in the soil. In our present study we had taken the previous data (1990 to 2014) of crop yields in Andhra Pradesh particularly Rice and sugar cane and we correlated them with the utilization of fertilizers on these crops. We observed that there is direct impact of fertilizers consumption and the crop yield as the fertilizers consumption increased the rate of crop yield also increased which showed positive correlation.
