ETHNOBOTANY OF THE EUPHORBIA HIRTA

Abstract Traditional medicines are the medicines which are developed by the folk peoples over the generations in the particular community, they are the resultants of the community experience over time, which they have gain from the generations. The folk medicines are easy to uses and they are cheap, they have the side less effects, in comparison to the chemical medicines which are hard and they have the large side effects. WHO also promotes the TM for the developing as well as the developed nations of the world .In this review article we are presenting some of the aspects of the weed entitled as the Euphorbia hirta of the euphorbiaceous family. The weed is the prostrate plants with the alternate leaves and the typical euphorbia pattern of the inflorescences, the weed is the reservoirs of the many kinds of the metabolites of the medicinal values. Many peoples in the world have discussed about the phytochemistry as well as the pharmacology of the Euphorbia hirta.
