ETHNOBOTANICAL ASPECTS OF THE AEGERATUM CONJOIDES

Abstract Traditional medicines are the medicines which are utilised by the tribal communities for the treatment of the many diseases, theses TM are the resultant of the community’s experiences over the time. The Tribal peoples are living in the community from the long and they have the experiences of the utilization of the plants for the various purposes. WHO also promotes the cultivation of the TM for the primary health care, they are cheap, easy to use and they have the less side effects. In this review article we are presenting some of the aspects of the wed entitled as the Aegeratum conjoides, the weed is the member of the family compositae family. The weed is the famous for the composition of the metabolites. However the weed is very toxic ad they have the highly immunological effects. So in some case the weed creates the large toxicities effects. In many parts of the world long efforts have been done to isolate the metobolites of the medical values, despite of them long pharmacological work are needed for the correct enumeration of the pharmacological aspects of the weed.
