Abstract

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION, ANTIMICROBIAL, ANALGESIC AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF NOVEL MANNICH BASES OF BENZIMIDAZOLE DERIVATIVES

Abstract

A new series of novel Mannich bases of benzimidazole were synthesized by condensation of substituted secondary amines and aldehyde in ethanol. These compounds were identified on the basis of melting point range, Rf values, elemental analysis, UV, IR and 1H NMR spectral analysis. The compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial, analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities. All compounds exhibited significant to moderate biological activity.
